This years D.T.H.S. Jazz Show was held on Friday May 20th and Saturday May 21st. Just in case you don't know what Jazz Show is all about, it is about comedy/variety show with music provided by the D.T.H.S. Band. All of the skits are written and performed by either D.T.H.S. Music Department members or by music director Mr. Richard Benzik.  The Dwight Junior High Jazz Band makes special guests appearances and plays two Jazz tunes lead by Ms. Kim Doyle.  Songs that were performed by the D.G.S. Jazz Band were "Y.M.C.A." and "La Negra Tiene Tumbao".  Songs that were performed by the D.T.H.S. Jazz Band were as follows:  "Livin' In Heat" with a solo by Jason Stanton on Guitar, "Take Five", "Someone To Watch Over Me" featuring Jenna Brown on vocals, "Stairway To Heaven" with a solo by Ben Goley on Guitar ,  "Crocodile Rock" with a solo by Brittany Davis on Trumpet, "God Bless The Child" featuring Mrs. Mary Pfeifer on vocals,  and "Hobo Flats" featuring Mr. Benzik on Tuba and Alumni. A performance by "BULL" which features two high school students and two alumni. (Joey, Ben, Mitch, and Tim). BULL will be playing "Alive" and "Creep"  The entire show is put together in 4 intense, short rehearsal days (Monday-Thursday) with opening night on Friday. The Jazz Show is always performed on the last day for seniors and is the highlight of the year for those who attend and take part in it.  On the following pages there are pictures taken from the Jazz Show for you to enjoy.

2005 Jazz Show Program

     *Green Man Group is patterned after the long running theater presentation "Blue Man Group".  Green Man Group consists of several members of the D.T.H.S. music department playing an assortment drums including a drum wall, bass drum rack & timpani.  2005 marks the sixth appearance of the Green Man Group in Jazz Show.
