Interstate Eight Conference Honors Band Festival

Below are pictures from the Interstate Eight Conference Honors Band Festival hosted at Lisle High School on Monday, March 13.  Eleven Dwight Township High School Band students (Heather, Melissa, Brittany, Kelsey, Adam, George, JP, Vanessa, Kirby, Amanda and Jessica) were selected to play in the 2006 festival. Band members from Coal City, Dwight, Lisle, Plano, Reed-Custer, Sandwich, Seneca and Wilmington Came together under the leadership of Guest Conductor Dr. Joseph Manfredo from the University of Illinois.  The program included “Emperata Overture” by Claude T. Smith, “Come, Sweet Death” by Johann Sebastian Bach arranged by Alfred Reed,  “West Side Story” by Leonard Bernstein arranged by W.J. Duthoit and finally, “Free Lance March” by John Philip Sousa arranged by William D. Revelli.  Thank you to Mr. Green and Lisle High School for showing us such a good time.  The Power outage and the Fire Alarm really did add to the days excitement.
